Located in the heart of Northwest Florida, Crestview to be exact, Okaloosa Heart and Vascular Center specializes in the treatment of cardiovascular ailments and we want to spread awareness of the various conditions we treat by publishing a series of blogs highlighting the most common ailments.

So far, our blogs have highlighted atrial fibrillation and congestive heart failure. The third condition in this series is venous insufficiency, or better known as chronic venous insufficiency, CVI for short. CVI is a condition in which the veins are too weak to pump a sufficient amount of blood back to the heart. Although veins run throughout our bodies the most commonly affected area are the lower extremities, specifically the legs.

The upside to CVI is that it’s very treatable. Here at Okaloosa Heart and Vascular Center, we utilizes cutting edge equipment and procedures to correct CVI, thus preventing it from becoming a serious health condition.

If you have chronic venous insufficiency be sure to schedule a cardiovascular checkup by calling: 850-682-7212.
