Our goal is to spread awareness about atrial fibrillation so that you are better able to recognize the symptoms. Atrial fibrillation, or A-Fib, is defined as an abnormal heart rhythm characterized by rapid and irregular beating of the heart. The irregularities may start in short bursts for short periods of time gradually increasing in frequency and duration with the possibility of becoming constant. Symptoms of a-fib can include heart palpitations, fainting, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, or chest pain.
