Shady Henien, MD, MBA is an Ivy League trained Structural Interventional Cardiologist. Dr. Henien was raised in Easton, Pennsylvania, and attended college at the University of Pittsburgh on a full-tuition academic scholarship, double majoring in both Neuroscience and Political Science. Dr. Henien graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 2008.


Prior to matriculating into medical school, he interned at Burson-Marsteller in NYC and then worked for VITAS Innovative Hospice in NJ. He was recruited to attend and received a scholarship to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and received an MD in 2013. Dr. Henien was elected and served as the Student Government Board President of both his college and medical school where he was awarded the “Student Leader of the Year” Award at both institutions. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Yale University/Bridgeport Hospital in 2016. Following that, Dr. Henien completed his General Cardiology Fellowship at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in June 2019 and his subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in June 2020.


Finally, he completed his training at Prairie Heart Institute in Illinois with a sub-sub specialty in a combined Structural and Peripheral Vascular Fellowship. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Henien received his MBA from Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management in May 2020. Dr. Henien has served on multiple political campaigns including two U.S. Presidential campaigns. He was elected to multiple national leadership positions including Chairman of the American Medical Association – Resident & Fellow Section. During medical school, he founded, Student Promise, to address the student debt crisis. He was featured on Fox Business with Gerri Willis. 

Dr. Henien recently joined Okaloosa Heart & Vascular Center in September 2021 and is looking forward to meeting others in the community and help treat patients with structural heart, coronary, and vascular diseases
